Please help with Theo’s vet bills!

Theo was living a rough life on the streets. A few years ago, he showed up at one of the colonies I care for. I got him neutered and vaccinated. Once I released him as a TNR, he rubbed up against my leg and kept coming back every single evening. Then, he went missing for two nights. He showed back up with an eye injury. I took him in to the vet and he was diagnosed with cataracts, glaucoma and a subluxated lens. And FIV+. He could no longer live outside. I took him in to join my pack. Little did I know that he would become my best friend.
For over a year now, Theo has been going to the eye specialist every few months to get his pressure checked. He’s been getting three eyedrops two times a day. Unfortunately, the glaucoma has progressed leading to him needing bilateral nucleation aka both of his eyeballs removed. This is not an uncommon surgery. His bloodwork showed extremely high glucose levels which indicated he has diabetes. If his surgery goes well, I will start him on an oral medication or possibly insulin injections right away. His diet will also change.
Between his surgery and bloodwork, his vet bill is estimated to be about $2500. Both the eye specialist and veterinarian agree that eye removal is the only option. They said he will feel so much more comfortable and no more pressure once he has both eyes and his impacted teeth removed. Today is surgery day. Please keep Theo in your thoughts and prayers. He is my world and such a good cat. He is so deserving.
Please help me to cover the cost of his vetting. I will be taking on the cost of his medication’s and specialty food. I’m asking the community to please come together to help cover his vet bills. As I always say, and I truly believe, if we all do a little, we can do a lot!
