The Communication Ministry of the St. Mark the Evangelist R.C. Church in Victoria, St. Mark's is asking for your assistance to purchase equipment to resume the live streaming of Sunday Mass and other events.
This ministry started with the youth of the parish using their cell phones and basic video editing software to bring you photos and footage of Sunday Mass and various events by posting on Facebook and YouTube. We have since advanced to live streaming which has been instrumental in connecting with parishioners at home and abroad, especially with restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, we have recently encountered some issues with malfunctioning equipment and so have been unable to live stream for the past few weeks. We know our absence online has been keenly felt and we regret that this has happened, but it appears that our current equipment could not sustain long periods of streaming. Therefore, we need to purchase new equipment to allow live streaming to resume.
We are seeking to raise funds to allow us to purchase the equipment - which includes a laptop (suitable for streaming over an extended period) and a higher resolution camera.
We appreciate any amount you can contribute to help us bring the Word and a little bit of home to those who join us weekly.
