Please Help us with Erica’s fight against Leukemia
In July of 2019 Our sister Erica was seen in the Emergency room or what we were told was Pneumonia and sepsis she was treated and released on antibiotics.One week after being released she was still feeling fatigue and shortness of breath. We took her back in for a follow up her blood pressure was really low and we were Immediately sent back to the emergency room. We were not given many answers the first 3 days as to what was going on other then her body was fighting an infection and her white blood count was extremely low in which required her to need blood transfusions and platelets. On day 4 a Bone Marrow biopsy was finally performed in which we were told the most devastating news of our lives the results showed she has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and she needed to be transferred to another hospital to begin the most aggressive form of chemotherapy right away. She began her 1st round of chemotherapy on day 5. Scared nervous not knowing what the outcome will be. Only being told her leukemia was fast growing and without immediate chemotherapy it could be fatal. She would never have imagined at only 37 years old she would be having to fill out power of Attorney paperwork or having to sit down and explain to her 13 year old daughter that she may or may not live through this.
Our sister Erica is a Single Mother as this was not by choice but because God had other plans for her Daughter’s father as he passed in 2012. Our sister has always been very Independent with the biggest heart. She has never been one to ask for help even in her times of need. She is the type of person who would give you her last dollar or even the clothes off her back. She never complains or never ask for anything in return.
She has just finished round 4 of chemotherapy and was told she would need to relocate from Nevada to California to be seen at UCLA for further treatment. In which her daughter had to stay in Nevada to continue going to school. Although we have tried to financially do this alone it has become very overwhelming and difficult. That no one fighting this disease should have to worry about monetary things. I hate to see her stress over money or worry if she will be able to afford bills,car payment or her health insurance as she will soon have to apply for long term disability. So we her sisters have decided to make her a gofund me in hopes that whoever reads this can help her with finances,medical as well as her travel expenses that will arise while she needs to be away fighting the biggest fight of her life.
