Our beloved father, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend — Roland De La Fuente — passed away on Saturday, October 11, at the age of 71 after a long and difficult journey in life.
Roland’s life was full of love, laughter, and resilience. Though his journey was not easy, he had a heart that was open to everyone he met. He was the kind of person who could strike up a conversation with a stranger and make them feel like family. Those who knew him will remember his humor, his warmth, and his deep capacity to care for others.
We find comfort in knowing he is now at peace. Our family’s greatest wish is to reunite him with our mother by spreading his ashes in Sequoia National Park, the same place where we laid her to rest. The beauty and peace of Sequoia symbolize everything we want for both of them — serenity, freedom, and eternal togetherness among the trees and sky.
We are asking for your help to make this final farewell possible. Your donation will go toward memorial arrangements.
Any amount, no matter how small, will help us honor his memory and give him the peaceful farewell he deserves. We are deeply grateful for your kindness, your prayers, and your love during this time.
Thank you for helping us celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
