Please Help Us Fight for Lola

Anyone who knows us knows how much we love our dog, Lola. Lola is my fiancé Frankie and I’s four year old rescue, and she is truly our soul dog who we were always meant to find. She is the best friend we’ve ever had.

Those closest to us also know she has been battling very serious and unusual health issues for quite some time now. Over the last couple of years, Lola has been hospitalized several times due to sudden onset of extreme fevers and presenting with dangerously low white blood cell and platelet counts. She has managed to make a full recovery each time, but the recurrences are becoming more frequent, and we are left without answers as we struggle to find the root cause of whatever illness she has. We have spent already thousands of dollars trying to make her better, with no permanent success or diagnosis. We feel so lost and afraid.

Lola is currently in the ICU at a specialized internal veterinary hospital where she is being treated. The team there has two goals: to make her stable (she went in with an extremely high fever, unable to eat, go to the bathroom and even barely able to walk) and finally get to the root cause of what is making her so sick in such strange patterns. In order to save her we need to find what’s wrong, and it will require a huge variety of testing such as spinal tap, bone marrow biopsy, infectious disease testing, X-rays ultrasound and more. Getting answers is the only way that we can help our dog, and ensure she is able to live out the long, happy and healthy life she deserves.

This treatment is so extremely expensive and only in complete desperation are we deciding to make an ask like this. We love Lola so very much, she is an emotional support animal and just our very best friend. We just want our happy and healthy girl back and truly anything helps.
