Please help us keep the Fowler Open!

Tax deductible
After 8 years in operation, the non-profit 1852 Foundation which is here to preserve the Fowler House for our community has lost its property tax exemption. We have gone to the appeals board and are hoping to get a favorable ruling. But the first payment is due before it appears we will get that ruling.

We need your help to stay open, please! Here is exactly what we need to raise:

$12,263.52 First Tax payment DUE MAY 10 2023
$12,263.52 Second Payment Due Nov 13 2023
$9,220.10 Legal costs from our appeal

We can slide our legal bills a bit, but we HAVE to cover that tax payment by May 10. If you can help in any way we would truly appreciate it.

We believe we have been absolutely in legal compliance with our non-profit status and property tax exemption for all of our existence and still are now. Yet we still have lost that exemption.

All donations are tax-deductible as we are a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to preserve the Fowler House and keep it accessible to our community. If we should exceed our goal all extra donations will go into house improvements or into creating our endowment.
