Please help Tuna Belly!

Yesterday our beloved Persian cat Tuna Belly suddenly started acting lethargic and lost interest in eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom. We took him to the emergency vet where they told us that he had blood pooling in his abdomen, but they weren’t sure why. Since they did not have the right diagnostic tools nor a surgeon on hand, we quickly transported him to the veterinary emergency facility connected to the State College. He was diagnosed with a hematoma of the liver. They said he would die without a blood transfusion and surgery immediately. Once they did the transfusion and he was stable enough, they performed the surgery. Tuna made it through and is now in recovery. We are cautiously optimistic that the mass they removed from his liver is not cancerous since he is so young and they didn’t see any signs of infection. He is not 100% out of the woods yet but so far things are looking up.
The ongoing costs associated with this emergency treatment are substantial. We are hoping we can ask our cat loving community for help. Every dollar raised will go toward the cost of his treatment. Tuna thanks you, and so do we!
