Please help Tristain get home

Tristain Edwards is a 34 yr old from Whyalla. He suffered a severe stroke while working in the Des's cabs call centre, where he has worked for 6 yrs. A clot lodged in one of his main ateries leading into the right side of his brain. After 2 attempts to remove the clot without success, surgeons had to perform a craniectomy to remove one 3rd of his skull to save his life from brain swelling. He is paralysed on left side, unable to move his arm at all, or focus with his left eye. Early movement in his left leg is promising allbeit very limited downward movement only. Surgeons have diagnosed severe brain damage in the "higher thinking" ability in his brain. He can speak although slowly, he has memories but struggles using phones, computers and alike. He is no longer able to work in his job. He is facing up to 12 mths rehabilitation in the Flinders medical centre in Adelaide just to get back some minor substance in life. The rehab centre is 500 kilometres from most of his family & friends, who get there as often as able to spend a few days with him. Doctors are unable to diagnose future directly, but may be wheelchair bound for life due to the stroke. I (his father) have started this page in the hopes of being able to acquire a mobility gopher for him in the future. Being highly unlikely to ever drive again, which is his passion from childhood, a mobility aid will be essential. Tristain has very up & down days as to be expected. He gets very upset at his lack of mobility and inability to use his left arm & leg. Although doctors prognosis for the future is one of worst case scenario, we as a family & friends wish only positive outcomes. He had no insurance, Ambulance cover etc as a lot of people his age don't really consider these things being low income earner and young. Support from his friends, family & employers has been great but he will be effected for life and we wish to be able to give him every chance to have some "normality" in his daily life.
