Deadly Fire Recovery Fund for Suro & Sprague

Donation protected

Hello friends and family,

It pains me so much to write this.

Yesterday a horrific tragedy struck the Chula Vista home of my sister and her family. To respect her family’s privacy as they grieve and recover I will leave their names out for now.

In the middle of the night a fire engulfed the house taking the lives of two young children, just one hour after being checked on for the last time before heading to sleep.

Their father, a dedicated Paraprofessional at Avondale Elementary, sustained injuries and burns attempting to save the children and is now in the burn unit of the UCSD hospital. Some of our neighbors attempted to put out the fire as best they could from the back of the home but tragically the fire was too fast and too aggressive. It was too late for 2 of the 3 children. The third was not home at the time of the fire.

Having lost everything and unsure of what insurance will cover, if anything, the surviving family asks for any and all support you can offer.

This unbelievable  tragic event has affected some of the kindest, caring, and hard working people I know and the loss of their children is something that no one should have to bear alone.

I will post more details as they come.

Thank you
