****I'm sad to report that Last night, June 3rd, 2017, around 7pm Tommy passed on. His heart stopped and couldn't be restarted. He leaves behind four amazing children and a wife. If you can donate anything at all, It will help keep the family afloat for a little while and also with funeral costs.****
One day, 16 years ago, Kristin Khan and Tommy Sacco met. They immediately fell for eachother. Everyone around them could see the attraction and emotions that were between them. The ended up married and with 4 beautiful children; 14, 8, 6 and 1. Two boys and two girls. Ive personally known Krissy since I was 16. Ive witness the love these two shared and the love they shared with their children.
In the last year, Tommy has hit some hard times medically. He has been in the hospital three times. At the age of 34, Tommy had an infection around his heart. It then turned into kidney and liver failure. He ended up needing surgery to have his aorta replaced. He was in the hospital 9 weeks. A few months later, he was admitted again. The infection from the last surgery never fully went away. It lingered and attached the aorta that was replaced. He had to have surgery again.
Now at the age of 35, Tommy is currently in the hospital and this time it is sever. The infection is back and it attacked his aorta and mitral valve. It ends up that the infection was breaking off from his heart and sending blood clots throughout his body. One went to his brain. It started off with a minor stroke at home and by the time he reached the hospital, he had a major stroke. He is in a medically induced coma while they try to fight the infection. HIs liver and kidneys are both failing. He needs surgery but cannot have the surgery while he has the infection. Right now the ventilator and medications are keeping him alive. They are saying that he needs antibiotics for 6 weeks and then re-evaluate the situation. They do not know what the outcome will be. Praying for the best but need to be prepared for the worst.
Due to the cost of childcare, they both felt it was best for Krissy to stay home with the children, which made Tommy the sole provider for the family. Unfortunately, with Tommy in and out of the hospital for the past year, their savings and nest egg have been depleted. Without him, there isn't much income coming into the house. The three youngest do not understand what is going on, but all four of them miss their daddy terribly. Krissy is holding it all together for her children but struggling on the inside. If we can help her financially for a little while, it one less thing she has to worry about during this rough time. Any donations, no matter the amount will help.
