Please Help the Renz Family Recover and Rebuild

I’m writing on behalf of my cousin, Lindsay, and her family of four. On Friday, September 2nd, 2022, between 8 and 9 PM, a car crashed into their home around 60MPH, according to police.

Lindsay, who had been sitting on the couch in their front picture window, was pushed from the living room, through the kitchen, and into the back of their home. Paramedics and firefighters found her still on the couch, pinned underneath the vehicle. Lindsay suffered a fractured nose, strained back, missing teeth, two black eyes, stitches in both legs, multiple bruises and lacerations, and no recollection of the events of that night. It’s a miracle that she is still here with us today.

On a normal night, her 8-year old daughter, Mackenzie, would have been cuddled up on the couch with her, too. This night, thankfully, Mackenzie was in the shower on the other side of the house.

Mackenzie did, however, lose her entire bedroom. The family is trying to salvage her clothes and some toys. Aside from being traumatized, she’s mostly devastated that she lost her Barbie home in the event.

Currently, Lindsay, Mackenzie, Lindsay’s husband, Brian, and their son, Mason, are staying with relatives. Over half of their home is destroyed and is completely unlivable. The family will need all new furniture, Mackenzie will need everything for an 8-year old girl’s room, kitchen appliances, clothing, and so much more, not to mention, help with Lindsay’s medical expenses during her recovery.
