Please help the Byland family

On Monday, November 27, 2017, Tim, Terrilee & Aiden lost their home in an early morning fire. While escaping with minor injuries, unfortunately everything they owned was lost. As a colleague of Tim's, this page is dedicated to helping the Byland family in rebuilding their future after this hardship.

Tragedy at the Byland Home:

At 3am, Terrilee woke up to Tim coughing really bad and realized that the apartment was filled with smoke. Quickly reacting, she woke Tim up and ran to Aiden's room to get him, as Tim tried to get the front door open to figure out what was going on. After getting the everyone out , they alerted their neighbors to get others to safety. 911 was called as Tim & Terrilee watched the flames pour from their bedroom windows. 60 minutes later with the help of 9 different Fire Departments the flames were under control and unfortunately Tim and Terrilee’s apartment was a total loss. Tim, Terrilee and Aiden were all taken to the hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. Upon being released several hours later and returning to the building, they were devastated to see their home destroyed.

Byland Family Background:

Tim Byland was born on 2/23/1981 in Clarksville, TN and later moved to Minooka, IL, where he graduated from Minooka HS in 1999. Tim is a proud Marine and has been serving ever since high school (18 years). Terrilee Byland was born 11/20/1983 in Waukegan, IL. She grew up in Antioch, IL and graduated from Antioch HS in 2002.

Tim and Terrilee met while going to Illinois State University in January 2005 and started dating shortly after. 6 years later, Tim and Terrilee got married in Joliet, IL shortly before Tim was deployed to Afghanistan. After returning from deployment Tim and Terrilee decided to start a family. On January 12, 2014 they were blessed with Aiden Lewis Byland.

In November 2014, their family moved to North Carolina for active duty. The family appreciated their whole new way of life, with their “little monkey” falling in love with the ocean and growing up down there. In August 2016 their time in NC had ended as Tim’s active duty tour was over and they moved back to Minooka, IL. As the family started new jobs and new schools, they began to feel at home again: Tim started working at Best Buy, Terrilee started working at Will County Sheriffs Department and Aiden started his early learning classes at Galloway Elementary School in Channahon. Life was going well and everyone was happy!
