Please help sweet Marley with life saving surgery

Hello everyone!

I’m not one to ask for help but this time I desperately need it. I recently found this sweet mama very sick, trying to care for her seven babies in less than conditions, she was super dehydrated and nauseous. Nobody caring for her wanted or had the means to care for her so I decided to scoop them up and get them to the vet. She had a very progressed case of mastitis so we tried antibiotics and got her all set up at our house with the puppies, becauseI tried to take them back to the home they were living at and the people caring for her did not convince me that they would do what it would take to get her back on track. Unfortunately, the mastitis abscessed and she had emergency surgery Friday. She was close to death, sepsis was on the brink. We had to wean the puppies and we’ve been hand feeding them every three hours and caring for Marley round the clock. She needs daily bandage changes at the vet in Littleton which is a 40 minute drive from our house. Each one costs $140. She is feeling better, finally wagging her tail and everyone who meets her falls in love with her, she is a gem of a pup.

Unfortunately, we learned today that the infection is not going to heal on its own and she needs a mastectomy quoted between $3000-3800. I’m already $1600 into vet bills/food/supplies.

This is especially frustrating because this all could have been avoided, I just wish I would have caught it sooner, this poor girl and she’s been such a champ through it all

I’ve missed work and I’ve slept about 3-4 hours a night since Thursday but I’m working to apply for grants and increase my care credit but I also have some special need animals of my own and if I max out my care credit, I won’t be able to help them if they have an emergency. My only other option is to surrender her to the dumb friends league and I just cannot possibly do that. She is less than a year old, has spent most of that on a chain in the freezing cold or in a crate that was too small. She’s never had constant love and care and I promised her a good life, if she kept fighting like I was and I’ll be sure she never had to have puppies again.

We have five weeks left to raise these puppies and they’re eating machines, if anyone has any puppy food or puppy pads laying around that you’re not using, we’ll put them to good use. We hope to vaccinate and spay/neuter all puppies before they find homes. There are far too many unwanted dogs and we want to do our part to stop the cycle.

Again, I know everyone has a lot going on and I’ll find a way one way or the other but any help will go so far to making sure these sweet pups have wonderful healthy lives.
