On August 1 our little Brother Shawn was in a single vehicle accident just outside of Cashtown where he was a passenger, unfortunately after his arrival at the Collingwood Hospital for assessment Shawn was air lifted to St. Michaels Hospital as they have one of the best Neurology units.
He underwent extensive surgery to preserve his spinal cord as he had suffered a complete separation between C5-C6. The surgery was meant to do 2 things: spinal realignment with metal plates running from C3-T1 for spinal fusion and to decompress the Spinal cord. Sadly we have been told Shawn will never walk again.
We want to provide Shawn with the best life possible. We are so thankful that God has kept him here on earth with us. Shawn's injuries are severe and his road to recovery will be lengthy.
We know how much he is loved by all of your wonderful and heart felt messages and we as a family can't thank you enough for all the beautiful things you have told us about our baby brother.
As siblings we have also been blessed with his humor, love and friendship, and are proud to hear that he shared these wonderful qualities with his community as well. Shawn is an amazing uncle to his nieces and nephews as he spoiled them with attention and of course junk food.
At this time we ask all of you that can help in anyway whether it be by way of donation or a Prayer for an amazing kid so young to help us assist him on his journey. I will keep updates as we get them until then, thank you all for your support.
