Please help support Izzy and Miggy

Please help Migdalia Medina and her only child Isaiah Nieves, also know as Izzy. Two of the strongest and bravest people I know on earth. I am calling all prayer warriors to take a few minutes today and pray for strength and healing during this difficult battle that Migdalia and Izzy are going through.  Izzy was born with a Congenital Heart Defect and Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, two very serious conditions that make daily activities increasingly difficult each year of his life. 

Izzy is one of the kindest, sweetest, funniest, bravest, strongest, smartest and most loving human beings I know.  Izzy is 11yrs old and a 5th grader at Cottle Elementary School in Tuckahoe, NY.  Lately, Izzy’s health has been declining.  This is leading to more and more visits to the doctor and hospitalizations for treatments, and less time at school with his friends. Even walking from classroom to classroom is becoming too physically demanding for Izzy and his heart. 

On Monday, March 12th, Izzy underwent a surgery to put a stint in his heart as a last chance to prolong being placed on the Heart Transplant List. He may have half of a heart but that heart is one of the strongest I know and I PRAY that it continues to be strong . Many of us want our children to stop growing up so fast, while Migdalia just wants a chance to see her child grow up.

We are asking our community to unite and help ease the burden for this loving, working, single mother and her beautiful child with their increasing medical expenses. Allow Migdalia the opportunity to do whatever she needs to do to help her son and be with him as long as possible. Migdalia works at our local CVS Pharmacy and helps us daily with our children's needs. Now is our time to help her as a community of fellow parents, neighbors, classmates and friends, and show her that we support her and love her son in their time of need. Stand by Migdalia so she can stand by Izzy!
