Hi, my name is Alison and I am fundraising to help support 2 year old Carter and his Mum Holly after tragically losing their beloved Daniel (32) last month from a stroke after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine. I am aiming to run 100miles (160km) in a month. (10th May-10th June)

Holly is my husband Matthews cousin who should be celebrating her marriage to Dan this month, instead she is heartbreakingly arranging his funeral instead.

I decided to give running ago in lockdown last year as the gyms were closed. I quite enjoy it (I think) and was well chuffed with myself when I achieved 60 miles(100km ) in a month. I never thought I would ever be saying that!

Now with this tragic loss I thought I would set myself this bigger challenge and achieve 100 miles (160km) in a month.

One month ago today, Daniel, aged 32, lost his life. On the morning of Tuesday 6th April, Holly woke to discover Daniel needed an emergency Ambulance. The paramedics took Daniel to Leicester Royal Infirmary, where he was diagnosed as having a major stroke. On Wednesday the 7th, Daniel had deteriorated. He was transferred to Nottingham Queens Medical Centre for life saving surgery. Unfortunately, the operation was not successful. Daniel spent his last days in intensive care surrounded by his loved ones. His life support was switched off on 9th April 2021.

Daniel loved life and lived for the moment. His 3 passions in life were family, football & friends, with Carter and Holly his absolute pride and joy. Daniel and Holly had planned to get married in May 2020 but this had to be postponed until May 2021 due to Covid-19, they wanted to celebrate their marriage without restrictions.

In April, Daniel was taking a two-week break between employment and was due to commence his new job on 14th April, so Holly and Carter will not benefit from any life assurance arrangements.
