My name is Hannah, and I am looking for help to provide surgery for my dog, Bailey, the adorable Border Collie-Austrailian Shepherd mix you see pictured here. She came into my life 2 years ago when her original owner had to make the difficult decision to rehome her. Bailey has brought me so much joy and peace for the past 2 years- come rain or shine, I know she will grace me with a big smile and roll over for a belly rub. She made me feel more enthusiastic to spend time outside playing or just walking. 3 months ago, after Bailey turned 9 years old, she darted after a squirrel on a hill, and then she stopped walking on that foot entirely, tearing the Crucial Craniate Ligament in her right back knee. 2 different veterinarians evaluated a near-total tear, and since she's now favoring that right knee, there's a 50% chance of tearing the same ligament in the other knee. They both recommended a surgery called Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO), which typically costs $4500+ but allows for the best recovery. I've been entrusted to take care of Bailey to the best of my ability on my own now, but I've only had part-time work since being laid-off for a year, and I don't want to delay too long since her leg will attempt to heal itself incompletely. Thank you for helping me give Bailey the best possible quality of life, since she has given so much love to others! ❤️
