<div>It is with a heavy heart that I humbly ask you for help for my niece Aubrey and her family. My sweet ten year old niece Aubrey was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia just two days after Christmas.

<div>On December 27, Aubrey was rushed to the emergency room because she wasn’t able to move her arms and legs and had sudden and unexplainable bruises on her body. Upon receiving initial blood work results, the doctors quickly realized that Aubrey’s numbers were dangerously abnormal. Her red cells were extremely low and her hemoglobin was down to a 3! Her white blood cells were also quite elevated.

<div>Aubrey was quickly admitted to the ICU where she had to receive FIVE blood transfusions and received multiple rounds of platelets to stabilize her system so that she was able to undergo a bone marrow biopsy. No one was prepared for the biopsy results to reveal that Aubrey has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The news was absolutely devestating to her parents.

<div> Aubrey has been in the ICU unit of the hospital since she was admitted and she will be there for two weeks. By that time they are hoping to have all of their test results back to formulate a game plan that will work best to get rid of Aubrey’s cancer. Aubrey’s port was put in this morning, because although they don’t know the exact plan of attack until all of the results are back, they do know that they intend to begin her chemotherapy treatment immediately. Their current estimation is 4-6 months of chemo.

<div> Aubrey’s parents have been by her side from the first minute she was brought to the hospital, and they intend to be there every step of the way. Unfortunately that will result in missing some work, and endless medical bills and expenses that are sure to be coming their way. Worrying about money should never be added to the already high stress level and trauma of having a sick child.
