Hello everyone,
My Name is Evan Mckenzie and my father had a hemorrhagic stroke in his thalamus Thursday December 10th. A week has gone by and after having a small glimpse of hope, he is now completely unresponsive. He is only 53 years old and I'm 24. I need to stay in my hometown of Endicott New York to finish this painful process of losing my dad. I do not know how long I will be gone for and need help to pay my bills for a couple months, ill be out of work because I'm the co executive to his will and grieving time. I honestly do not know what to do in this situation, I feel so lost. Today on December 18th, the hospital is starting palliative care and they do not expect him to live long after they take him off the the ventilator. My father was the most selfless person I have ever met and would go out of his way for anyone he knew, to make sure that nobody was left behind even if it meant he had to struggle for someone else. My father was the strongest person I have ever met with a heart of gold. He was so funny and kind and always knew how to make people laugh. I would give anything in the world to sit down and talk to him one more time to hear his voice and listen to his jokes and stories. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life and anything helps. Please send prayers and love. I would greatly appreciate it.
