Please Help Send Lani Home

Lani Pumaras was a beloved mother, sister, daughter and caretaker of the young, old, and ill. She spent her life taking care of infants, folks who were ill or elderly, and disabled children. She lived her life with a love for God and her son, Andrei, above all else. She was patient, kind, and selfless, always putting the needs of others above her own. 

While traveling in the USA, Lani had a brain aneurysm and collapsed. She was taken to a regional medical center and then evacuated by airplane to Barnes Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.  After reaching the ICU, it was determined that Lani had been unable to survive the devastating bleed in her brain.

Her family has asked that her remains be sent back to the Philippines for a Christian memorial and burial service. We desperately want to get Lani home to her family, but the EMS and air evacuation added to the medical costs from the hospitals and the cost to send her home total more than $80,000 and have exhausted the resources our family and hers. The insurance she has in Abu Dhabi doesn't cover anything because she was traveling overseas and the mortuary requires full payment upfront to proceed with the arrangements.
