Please Help Save Tillys Life!!

Little Miss Tilly could truly use your support!! Tilly is an 8 year old Chihuahua, and she's going through an extremely rough time, as is her family. She underwent a serious surgery which unfortunately resulted in some unforeseen and extreme unfortunate complications.

Here's a back history on her. At 8 weeks old she was dumped in the parking lot of an emergency vet hospital because she had a broken leg & her owners couldn't afford to fix her. I rescued her & repaired her leg. She since has been a complete joy and you would never guess anything happened to her, until now. She loved to play, do tricks for treats, sunbathe, play dress up with her 6 year old human friend, and howl for fun!

In August of 2017 she started having neck pain, it was managed with some medications as xrays did not show anything. She became dramatically worse in February of this year, and ended up needing additional imagining with a myelogram & CT scan. The results showed she had a severely compressed spinal disc and needed  spinal surgery asap.

She went to surgery with some amazing surgeons who are very familiar with this procedure and she was expected to have a full and quick recovery. Unfortunately this isn't the case. The day after her invasive and intense surgery, she developed aspiration pneumonia and needed to be moved into an oxygen cage. She was unable to move any of her limbs for the first few days which means she's unable to stand or walk. Slowly she has been gaining some movement in her limbs, which is a good sign but not happening as fast as it should. Several days after her procedure Tilly developed some additional neurological problems which have resulted in some respiratory issues that seem spinal cord &/or nerve related. She is currently still hospitalized at Pacific Veterinary Hospital in the ICU on oxygen support, IV fluid support, IV antibiotics & pain medications, recumbency care, and she is also being syringe fed as her appetite is not great.

She has a team of doctors and nurses who are caring for her and doing everything they can to help her and to try to understand exactly what has happened. She is not recovering as expected and may need additional diagnostics and additional specialists (UC Davis) to be involved so we can find the problem and if this can be fixed. It is just one week after her procedure and she still unable to stand, breathe properly, eat normally, or enjoy anything.

Tilly is a trooper and an absolute angel. She deserves to be normal again and she wants nothing more than to be able to walk and be home with her family and her Chihuahua brother, who misses her dearly. Please help Tilly by making a donation towards helping her get back on her feet, literally. Her family could really use the financial support to get her the proper assistance she needs and to help pay for her surgery(s), diagnostics, and hopefully rehabilitation. If you're unable to make a financial donation, prayers and positive thoughts are just as welcome, as is sharing this GoFundMe on your Facebook page!!

We truly appreciate any support we can get, as we are in desperate need of it. Thank you very much for taking the time to read about our situation. I've included some pictures of Tilly before her surgery and after her surgery.

Again, thank you!!
