Ren's life has been one of resilience. Throughout hardships, he has maintained a spirit of kindness and generosity and a philosophy of facing challenges alone.
Ren is suffering from Renal Failure, Diabetic Kidney disease. He has Diabetic Nephropathy Stage 5 and cannot survive without regular dialysis. He is only 51 years old and is unable to afford dialysis since he's been unable to work for 8 months.
With declining health and no available medical insurance, Ren has been trying to navigate his country's pay-as-you-go medical system.
Diagnosed with kidney disease, Ren's doctors have determined the need for dialysis. There have been some challenges to delivering the treatment, which has delayed relief for his symptoms and added to his pain and exhaustion.
Until he can be stabilized, set on a schedule for outpatient services, and, hopefully, receive a fistula for dialysis, Ren's condition remains fragile.
Since his medical needs have consumed all of his resources, the urgent issue is funds. It will be several months until Ren can receive any support at all. Quite literally, Ren cannot survive that long.
Ren has been a close friend for years, and I know many of his other friends and associates. Even with his strong will and determination, he cannot face this challenge alone. Please help me to assist Ren through this crisis so he can experience what so many of us take for granted, the safety net of hope and support through our most vulnerable times.
Any gesture will be received with immense gratitude. Thank you.
