What could be more heart-breaking than to see your child become more and more disabled as time goes by, caused by an illness with no known cure. We can tell you it doesn’t matter if your child is 5 years old or 50 years old, it is heartbreaking.
Our daughter Rori was always a vibrant, happy person. She started losing her ability to walk about 4 years ago, closely followed by extreme difficulty speaking. She saw multiple neurologists and specialists, with no diagnosis. She endured treatments that were painful, exhausting, and in the end, ineffective. It has been a terribly sad and difficult time. It was life-changing for Rori, because she was a teacher and absolutely loved her job. The kids loved her, parents requested her and colleagues adored her.
This disease forced her to leave her beloved profession. She is heartbroken, unable to do what she loves. She cannot drive, walks with great difficulty, aided by a walker, and her speech is very difficult to understand. This amazingly happy, self-assured woman who has an incredible wit and determination is struggling to hold on. She could really use our help.
Rori was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease. Lyme disease affects everyone differently. It's called "The Great Imitator" because it mimics every disease out there. That's why it was so difficult to diagnose.
Insurance companies do not cover treatment for Lyme disease She and her family have already lost their home due to hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical expenses.
She has found a treatment that holds great promise, through stem cells. There is one facility here in Southern California that does stem cell treatment and they have a track record of helping people with symptoms like Rori’s. It is a new and promising treatment.
