Randy always kept a schoolteacher's long driveway cleared of snow and showed up at our house to monitor the river because he understands the damage it does when it overflows. <strong>Helene took hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment and tools, and a landslide took the large shop.</strong>

<div>Randy Burleson and his wife Loretta of Roaring Creek, Newland, in Western North Carolina are salt of the earth kind of people.  Randy is known all over Avery and Mitchell counties as the go to guy who can fix it or has equipment to fix it.  He lost most everything in his Big Equipment Shop, all his tools, not to mention the damage to his home and most importantly the loss of family and friends to Hurricane Helene!  Randy braved the storm to help people in his community.  He went out in the raging flood waters to rescue people on his road.  Then he spent days fixing the washed out road.  He used a large trackhoe and excavator to fix the road that was gone.  He dedicated himself to a task that most would not attempt.  He has been working nonstop -16 hour days since Hurricane Helene, 7 days a week , despite his personal losses!   It  is time now to help him rebuild and replenish his shop and his home.
