One cold late night, a week ago, I rescued this gorgeous 9 week old angel I have now named Smokey, from a backyard with her mama and 2 little siblings, after a call for help following the awful downpours and freezing winds. Finally warm and safe, we were relieved and thrilled that the adorable trio could enjoy their cozy new home with a foster couple to love on them ❤ Only to realise the following day that the poor fluffy little girl was actually not looking right. Compared with her siblings, her breathing was laboured, she was feeling flat and lethargic, and she was barely eating.
She was taken immediately to the vet, where they placed her on oxygen, IV fluids, a nebuliser, did a blood exam and an xray. Our little girl was weak, had a fever, pneumonia, flu, (upper and lower respiratory) was terribly anaemic, and also underweight. She needed to be hospitalised urgently and also started on Clavulox and eye ointment. She is still admitted - it has been a week in hospital, and thankfully she has slowly been responding to the antibiotic treatment and oxygen therapy to help her breathe, her fever has come down to a normal temperature, and shes now remaining in a maintained heated oxygen cage with IV fluid therapy. This beautiful tiny girl is still carefully being monitored for her breathing, she has been routinely syringe fed, but is now finally starting to eat on her own, and looking brighter. Her little lungs and the pneumonia are very gradually improving, and will need more time, as will her anaemic condition
Please, if you could assist with her ongoing treatments and hospitalisation, any donation, big or small will help ensure that this sweetheart Smokey makes it, and comes home to her little brother and sister and mama ❤❤
Thank you so much for your support x
