Our little angel *LARA* diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on May 31, 2020.  Her 5th birthday is coming up on the 16th of June. It all started with fever and fatigue. It got to the point that later in the afternoon we became very concerned and we are ended up taking her to the ER. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/49010854_1592791483519187_r.jpeg" alt="49010854_1592791483519187_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /> The night we found out our little princess, Lara has cancer in her blood it feels like our hearts was going to stop. To think that something so precious and innocent could be ripped from our lives was unfathomable. Her Mommy found it out by text from me since I could not talk for a couple of days. Due to Covid-19 her mother and sister cannot be with her. This is also heartbreaking for us. They only allow one adult to be with her. The next few days were filled with more tests, blood transfusion as her hemoglobin was dangerously low. She is super, super smart and sweet. She is a little brown-haired princess, believing in unicorns and princesses. Lara is also the best little sister to Mira and loves her so much.  <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/49010854_1592790638778570_r.jpeg" alt="49010854_1592790638778570_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /> She won't let my hands go ever since we run into the ER at the Tampa St Joseph Children's Hospital. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/49010854_1592790521128855_r.jpeg" alt="49010854_1592790521128855_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /> She already received her second chemo therapy and will receive a third one right before the discharge. She needed numerous blood transfusions because of the damage has already been done by the cancer. After the initial 35 days of aggressive treatment, we are looking forward to a 2-3 years of treatment. If it all goes by the plan, she should be free of cancer by the end of the 3rd year of treatment. We will be closely monitored by the group of doctors and nurses up to 10 years. Lara is a fighter and has a joyful spirit but the road ahead of us will be extremely demanding. I am starting this Go Fund Me because Lara has a very long and difficult battle ahead and we are not in a position where she could get the best financial support as of now. This is a very big emotional challenge. By the time me and my wife pulled ourselves together, we found out that now our whole life is upside down because of the changes this diagnosis brought upon us. At the beginning of the treatment the doctors were asking me if I would sign up for a research program. They did not have a chance to ask me twice. I thought if it would help only one angel like Lara, it will be well worth it. This is something that no parent should have to experience.
