Please Help our Struggling Small Business Survive

Hello! My name is Sherry and I am fundraising for my struggling small business, The PhytoNutrient House: Alternative Cafe & Natural Emporium.

I opened a couple months before Covid hit in December of 2019... I thought it very important those front line workers and those worried about their health for me to stay open as an essential business to support the community's health... as we specialize in providing Keto, Gluten Free, Vegan and Organic options in our cafe; customized herbals, oils, teas in the Natural Emporium... and private classes & consultations in our teaching kitchen & medicinal herb garden. Unable to start the classes that were meant to sustain us through summer 2020, we have and still are accumulating debt we are unable to pay for our utilities and bills that continue to this day... We were only able to receive one grant of $1000 early last year, unable to qualify for every other grant applied for or they also "ran out" of funds... with relief I was certain my small business (that had not been able to receive PPP or any other such assistance) would be in front of the line for the last government grant funding... horrified and broken-hearted, I was told gov't funds "ran out" again and there was no help available for my business.

Now, my business has been temporarily closed unexpectedly at of the end of May because of a car accident causing me to be physically unable to do even the simplest of tasks. I am the only one that runs and works at the shop (with some volunteer help from daughter)- I do the lawn and garden maintenance, baking, formulating, product making to the cleaning, accounting and consultations. I never expected the recovery process to be so lengthy and despite my extreme gratitude that the accident was not worse and I have the ability to heal... I still am out a vehicle, no tips that helped me with groceries, I am losing a lot of product & stock, loss of my customer base I was just starting to build. The scheduled maintenance projects were being put on hold and classes will only survive if I have the financial means to keep the shop open and hire help because I will be limited once I start back up (hopefully in October/November).

I was struggling so much before and now re-opening seems almost impossible without asking for help. Maybe one of the lessons I was supposed to learn- I cannot go non-stop helping everyone else without humbly being able to ask for help and support for myself. This physical recovery process has been a very challenging and an educational experience - mentally and emotionally as well. I am grateful and humbled by everything I am learning- knowing it will make me a better holistic practitioner and educator in support of others' well-being.

The money will go to paying my utilities, replacing the stock lost from lack of business and hire help to open full time and restart our nutrition classes... if we are blessed to get over our goal amount we will be able to start our sliding scale health workshops and complimentary kids classes to our surrounding low income area residents.

Your consideration of support for this struggling small business is so very appreciated! I am extremely grateful. Thank you again so much!

Sincerely,
Sherry Cooley
