Please help one family

We're currently undertaking our nursing elective placement in Western Visayas Medical Center, a Government run hospital in Iloilo, Philippines. Western Visayas Medical Center serves 45 provinces with a no refusal policy. Meaning, the hospital is seriously overcrowded, with many patients even sharing beds and a nurse patient ratio of 2:100 patients. As hospital resources are so scarce, patient's have to fund their own treatment from the little money that they have. This means people can't afford to receive the crucial care they so desperately need.

In particular, one lady's story has touched our hearts. She currently has breast cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy, which up until now has been funded by her heavily pregnant daughter. Unfortunately, her daughter can no longer afford her mum's last two chemotherapy treatments and can't afford to now care for herself or her family. This lady will die if she doesn't receive the last two remaining chemotherapy treatments. The cost of this is 40,000 pesos- approx £650. Please help us raise money to fund this cancer treatment, as well as money to help give this baby the best possible start in life. It would be amazing if we could raise this money before the end of our placement here, 26/07/17, so we can present the cheque to the family. 

Unfortunately, we can't help everyone, but we can help one family....
