Please help my parents recover from home burglary

My parents’ apartment was broken into and ransacked when they returned from their first vacation in more than 10 years. They lost all their money that was supposed to pay for rent, utilities, and repaying loans from relatives, banks, and fruit wholesale companies, as well as irreplaceable family heirlooms. They have worked incredibly hard to keep the fruit stand running through the COVID pandemic and discrimination against Asian Americans. This burglary has taken away priceless family items and their sense of safety in Chinatown. My brother and I are heartbroken that they have become the target of someone's malicious acts.

 

My family has lived in New York City’s Chinatown since they immigrated from China in 2000. Due to their limited English proficiency, my parents worked long hours at their fruit stand in Chinatown, providing community members with the best and freshest fruits. They worked long days through blood, sweat, and tears to earn what they have. They only take days off during extreme weather conditions that would not allow them to be working outside. They proudly call Chinatown their home and are friends with many in Chinatown.
