Please help my friend Trevor, every bit helps

Hi! My name is Jeni.

Trevor, who is my longtime friend (of 28 years) has been very sick since 2022. He isn’t able to work and he gets up to 4 hours of minimal functionality per day on his best days. He is always in pain and even waking up in the morning is excruciating. He has been suffering with his mental health and because he can’t work, has incurred a huge amount of debt! It’s just heartbreaking.

Here is a letter from his Dr. explaining his situation…

Fighting Long COVID: Chronic Pain, Fatigue, and the Invisible Battle

Trevor has been living with Long COVID — a condition that continues to impact his life long after the initial infection. What he faces every day goes far beyond just “not feeling well.” His symptoms are constant, severe, and life-altering.

His primary struggles include:

Chronic Pain: Long COVID has triggered intense, widespread pain throughout his body. This pain is often relentless and can flare with even the smallest effort, making movement and daily activities extremely difficult.

Brain Fog and Cognitive Challenges: Everyday tasks that used to be simple — reading, focusing, remembering things, or holding conversations — now feel like climbing a mountain. This brain fog is one of the most frustrating and isolating parts of his illness.

Crushing Fatigue: Unlike regular tiredness, this fatigue is deep, persistent, and made worse by any physical or mental exertion. He often describes it as waking up already exhausted, with only a limited “energy tank” each day — one that can be drained just by showering, eating, or having a conversation.

Autonomic Dysfunction (POTS/Sympathetic Overdrive): His nervous system is no longer regulating basic functions properly. This causes rapid heart rate, dizziness, problems with digestion, and temperature regulation issues. His body often feels stuck in “fight or flight” mode, which fuels both anxiety and exhaustion.

In many ways, Long COVID overlaps with conditions like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME), and he is now exploring treatments such as pacing, nutritional support, rehabilitation services, and medications — many of which are not covered by insurance.

Despite his best efforts, this condition has left him unable to work or function the way he used to. He’s facing mounting medical costs and a long road ahead.

Your support will help cover essential treatments, daily living needs, and offer some stability while he works toward healing. Every donation — no matter the size — helps give him hope, relief, and a path forward.
