If you have a moment, please help me raise money for my special childhood friend, Saki and her husband, Shou.

Saki met Shou right after she got out of a physically and mentally abusive relationship. Her son, Shun, is actually from a previous marriage, but Shou was able to give to both Shun and Saki true love and care. Neither Saki nor Shou came from stable families. By meeting each other and creating their own version of a family, they were also healing from their past.

Recently, Saki’s husband, Shou, was diagnosed with acute myelocytic leukemia. This is a rare form of cancer for young adults, and Shou is only 32 years old. He was experiencing fevers and extreme fatigue for weeks, so he went to a local small family doctor. After they tested his blood, they found out that his white blood cell counts were 8 times more than healthy adults. He was told that if he came to the hospital two days later, then he would have died. He needed to be admitted to the hospital immediately.

Currently he has been treated with chemotherapy. The prognosis for patients with this type of leukemia is 40%. If chemotherapy doesn’t work, they will need to consider a bone marrow transplant. As of right now, they are working hard to extend his life up to 5 years. Shou will need to stay in the hospital for a long time, and Saki will be the sole provider for the entire family including their 7 year old son, Shun.

Needless to say, this is a very difficult situation for all of them. The funds will be used to pay for the medical bills as well as their son’s school and daily expenses.

I do not want to see my friend suffer again. I know that this time of the year people have a lot of expenses, but please, I beg you, consider helping them as they could use some extra love and help right now. However much you could afford would be greatly appreciated.
