Please help my brother Dan get home

I haven’t seen my brother Dan in 22 years, and that was only for a few minutes! He moved to California in 1983 for work opportunities. He loved living and working in California, but old back injuries became much worse with age and led to a series of surgeries. He needed surgery for a severely degenerative disc in his lower back and it wasn't until 2 years afterwards that the pain became so bad he sought medical help again as he found it impossible to even move at times. The spinal specialist at that time informed him that the earlier surgery had never healed properly. A bacterial infection after the initial surgery had prevented proper healing and had also damaged surrounding nerves. A reparative surgery was necessary as well as the removal and fusion of 4 levels of his lumbar spine, and it was doubtful he would ever walk normally again. He also was told he would not be able to work again, and would need pain management care for the rest of his life. The nerve death (radiculopathy) has caused muscle wasting in his legs and the leg pain made it necessary for him to have an electronic spinal nerve stimulator implant surgery in 2015. His condition is permanent and the doctors were even surprised he was able to work at all after the original surgery because the majority of people who had that surgery never worked again at any job. However, Dan is a driven person and has always prided himself on work, even getting more education to work in the growing biotech industry in Southern California.
But now, he is alone, can't drive, and spends the majority of his time in bed, making only a monthly trip out to go to a pain management specialist physician appointment, and the occasional spinal injection. He’s been alone for many years now and has recovered from 3 surgeries on his own, with no friends or family. He really misses his family now after 10 years of chronic pain and isolation. It is my prayer that our Facebook family will help him get closer to us and back to "home", where his social security disability will pay more than just rent and food! Our goal is $4,000 but any amount will help! Thank you and God bless you.
