Please Pay it Forward

Hi, my name is Linda Hatton and anyone that knows me, knows that I do not ask for help very easily, but I'm asking now. My sister, Nancy Roberts and I are trying to help our brother, Tim Breshears. He is finding out the hard way that not everyone's heart is as big as his. Several years ago he had some hard times and lost his home, worked his ass off and was finally able to buy another house years later. He had a friend that was down on her luck living with him in his apartment at the time. When he bought his house he let the friend move in with him. She didn’t feel it was fair for her to pay any rent since she was down on her luck and he could afford it on his own, so he let it go. Later, she allowed him to sign up on her insurance. Looking back he is not sure if she did it because she felt bad for freeloading or if she was trying to establish a common law marriage. During the pandemic he lost his prized Harley trying to keep the house out of forbearance. She was still able to put $1000 a month into her craft business because she was not contributing anything to the household. Fast forward a couple of years and she decided she doesn't want to be there any more so she decides she can sue him for divorce and get half of everything he owns and yes that includes his home that she has NEVER contributed to. He refinanced his home to be able to get an attorney and was told in court he has to make monthly payments to her since he makes more money than she does, (only because he works more than she does). He also will have to refinance his home in a year to pay her her fair share. What is her share of something she never contributed to? She had 90 days to get her two camper trailers and all of her houseful off belongs off his property or pay him rent. He fell into some additional financial hardships and wasn't able to keep up with her payments. Of course her things are still on his property and she hasn't paid a dime. Long story a little bit longer.... she is suing him for contempt of court and he now has to go back to court to try to save his home and this time we are trying to get him an attorney that will be able to help him. He only has a few weeks before he goes back to court so I am putting out this plea to please help my brother. All of this took place in just a five year period and he does not deserve this. He also does not deserve to lose his beloved dog if he loses his house and has to move. Thank you so much for any help you can give him. Any and everything will help.
