Hello, My name is Ryan DeJean. You might know my mom Susan Cote'. My family has been friends-like-family with Filo Carrion-Pisati for over two decades. If you have ever met Filo you know how incredibly sweet and kind-hearted she is and how hard she works despite her many physical ailments.
Two months ago Filo became so ill she was not able to stand or sit without excruciating pain, and had to stop working. After seeking medical advice it was determined that she had two ruptured discs in her back, one of which required immediate surgery. The surgery was a success, but she will not be able to work for another two months meaning she will have lost four months of income, nearly $20,000. The trouble is, on top of her recent surgery, and the expenses of taking care of her aging parents, Filo has several serious health issues that require continuous and expensive medical care. She suffers from acute Rheumatoid Arthritis, Behcet's Disease, a very rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of the blood vessels and organs and is incurable, and Hypoparathyroidism. She is also a survivor of both Thyroid Cancer and Breast Cancer and is actively receiving treatment while in remission.
Our initial goal is $20,000 to help Filo pay for her medical care and living expenses as well as her parents' care.
