Please help Miles beat leukemia

This is my nephew Miles. He turned 2 years old 9 days ago and today was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and it has spread throughout his entire body so he is now fighting for his life. Yesterday he had a bone marrow biopsy and a platelet transfusion. Today he was diagnosed and had an echocardiogram done to see if his heart is strong enough to withstand the intense chemo treatments that he will need. Tomorrow he is having a port placed and a lumbar puncture so they can inject chemo into his spinal column. He then has to start daily chemo into his port which is going to make him very ill and he will likely be unable to eat and need a feeding tube. He will be in the hospital for 9 months in a private room where the air is filtered to hopefully prevent him from catching any illnesses as the chemo destroys his immune system, leaving him unable to fight off any illnesses. That is a lot for a 2 year old to have to endure so he will need his parents at his bedside to help him recover. In addition to all of those things, he will be needing many more tests, blood transfusions, procedures, etc. His parents, Jake and April, will be out of work for that time to care for him and in addition to a very large hospital bill they still have all of their expenses at home, gas money, food, etc. I ask that you please not contact them directly at this time as this is an extremely difficult time for them and they are needing to spend all of their time with Miles. Instead, I will be updating this site with any new information and we will also be starting a caring bridge website. Miles' parents would be humbled by anything you could donate on his behalf.
