<div>Hello everyone. It breaks my heart to write this…Our dearest friend Michael Sixsmith and his family are having terrible time. Michael got diagnosed with an eye melanoma in October 2023 and was admitted into hospital for radiation plaque therapy. After a biopsy and the results Michael was told the tumour was non aggressive but he would have to have liver scans every six months as there was a possibility of the melanoma spreading to his liver. Michael had his first scan in May 2024 and unfortunately it is very serious with 5 tumours already there. Without treatment Michael has been given 12 months to live as it’s incurable.

<div>The type of cancer that Michael has is very rare and for Michael to have any chance to live longer is to pay privately. There is a private treatment which will have a much better effect called Delcath, which is chemosaturation of the liver, but unfortunately it comes at a very expensive cost of at least £46,000 per treatment plus consultation fees. Due to chemosaturation being a procedure rather than a drug, the NHS does not cover this type of treatment.

<div>Michael has already had his first treatment on the 8th October 2024 and his consultant Dr Greg Wilson has told Michael that he will need three treatments at a cost of £138k in total. So I’m asking all our friends and family to please share and anybody that is able to help please help this beautiful family that is already suffering. For anyone who knows Michael personally, will know how hard he works and how much he contributes to his local community and has done for past 35 years of his life. We cannot underestimate just how much even £1 donation can help make a difference. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for any help given. ❤️ Michael is very focused and determined he is going to do everything in his power to beat this. ❤️ The reality is, Michael and his family are going to have the toughest time ahead anyone could have.
