Please Help Michael Hunsberger

A couple of weeks ago, Michael started to feel very sick with severe headaches, nausea, sneezing, and blurry vision in his left eye. Michael was finally convinced to go to the hospital this past Friday, and was admitted through the emergency room. He is currently in the ICU and is thought to have malignant hypertension. Last night, Michael was intubated because his lungs were not producing enough oxygen. He is expected to be unconscious for several days while his body heals. He will also be getting a kidney biopsy today so that the doctors can figure out why his kidneys have stopped purifying his blood.

As many of you know, Michael lost the love of his life to Sickle Cell disease 5 years ago, on March 25th. Jessica was only 31 years old at the time, but the love she and Michael experienced is one that lasts more than a lifetime. The old saying “time heals all wounds” never sat well with Michael, as that wound is one that he still struggles with every day. As the anniversary of Jessica’s death comes closer, we are hoping Michael stays strong and beats the mystery of whatever is causing his declined health.

While Michael is being treated in the hospital, he’s going to need some help with his bills. Please consider donating what you can to ease this burden on him. Anything extra that is donated will be applied to the debt he still owes for Jessica’s medical and funeral expenses.
