Hello, my name is Han and the beautiful girls I am fighting to keep with me are Chai and Athena. Let me tell you a little bit about us and why I am asking for your help.

I understand this is a long shot but any little bit will go a long way so if you have the ability to help, whether by donating or sharing, everything will be appreciated and I would be grateful beyond words.

Chai and Athena are litter sisters, they came into my life in 2023 when I officially adopted them, they didn’t have the best start in life as they were surrendered to rescue as babies which is where I met them. At the time, I lived in a home with my ex partner and our four ferrets and life to me seemed good.

My family and friends had been trying to tell me since day one but as with many like me, I didn’t see it, or maybe I just didn’t want to. My ex partner was toxic. He was coercive, controlling and manipulative and little by little I was losing myself and dying inside. Fast forward four years, and I had become a statistic. In 2024 we finally broke up but we continued living in the same accommodation, there were a number of reasons for this but for me, my primary reason was that I had no where to go at the time that I could take my babies with me.

In March 2025 my chance came and I took it. By this time I had been through the devastating loss of 3 of our 4 ferrets and had permanently fostered another cat, Caspian. After dealing with my ex partner attempting to isolate me from my family and then having to cope with his new partner staying in my home a majority of the time amongst many other things I would rather not go into detail about. A place became available for me where I could move to with my girls, and Caspian.

My family came to help pack my stuff so that I could get out fast and all was going well until I told my ex partner I was taking the cats. After a lot of drama I won’t bore you with but I am sure you can imagine, he asked for a compromise, he asked to keep Caspian the cat we had fostered claiming he was his ‘heart cat’. I didn’t want to agree, and even now I wish that I hadn’t, but Caspian had bonded better with him and it seemed a fair compromise that I take two of the pets and he keep two. I was devastated leaving behind Caspian and our ferret Mochi, she has since died, and despite being her sole carer for nearly her entire life I never got to spend her last minutes with her. That will haunt me forever.

Since leaving, my girls have been living their best lives. They have access to the outdoors on a daily basis using their purpose built catio, they have company 24/7 in the home we are living in. Athena no longer requires the medication she used to take for stress induced UTI’s and Chai especially has thrived. She was always a quiet, nervous girly but she has come right out of her shell and is chatty to everybody and ruling the roost. She has daily zoomies informing everybody of her catio adventures.

When I left I thought that I was finally free. That a new life lay ahead for me and my girls. How wrong I was.

Despite being the one to ask for the compromise, of course my ex couldn’t leave it there and just let me go and take my girls with me. He is a social media influencer and one year later he weaponised his 900,000 strong base and lied to fundraise and drag me to court to try and take them away. He is asking the court for both of my girls but has picked his ‘favourite’ cat and is quite happy to settle for separating them despite them being closely bonded, as can be seen in the pictures above.

The girls were adopted in my name and all relevant paperwork relating to them is in my name. I have financial history proving payments regarding their upkeep paid for by me, and they have lived with me as their sole provider for over a year. Yet still he keeps going in the hopes that he can financially drown me and take them away.

So far the solicitors fees have amounted to £3000 and that is before even reaching court so they are only going to increase. My girls are my everything and I will do whatever it takes to keep them, if that means going into debt then so be it, but I am hoping and praying that some of you out there might find it in your hearts to help me.
