In November 2022, I had thoracic spine surgery that was not elective. It was supposed to be a simple procedure with a recovery time of about a month. But that is when my ordeal started. I was not ready for what happened after the surgery. It was months of complications, four months of intense occupational and physical therapy. Now it's been almost three years and I am still dealing with mobility issues. I do walk with a cane, but sometimes the pain is so bad that my body is screaming and I have to use my walker. I just went back to work after being on medical leave for a year because of all the chronic pain. I am an educator who is constantly moving. I do have accommodations in the school I'm working at, but I still am constantly moving, and this has become heavy on my body, which produces a great deal of pain by the end of every day.

So I'm asking for support to purchase a scooter to help me move around with better ease so that I can ease the strain on my body. This is my story and I do not wish it on my worst enemy. I know what you're thinking I should be able to buy my own scooter since I have a great job but my insurance won't cover it and I cannot fund this myself at the moment because of the financial burden that being in this condition has put on me. I have so many medical bills and debt that has accumulated from being out of work because of this one surgery that changed my whole life.
