Hey my name is Kamiah, I’m 15, a wrestler from Castle Rock Washington and I’m raising money to go to the USMC 16u/JR Nationals in Fargo, ND in July AND an 8 day girls wrestling camp at Colorado Mesa in June. I won first place at regionals this weekend which earned me a spot on the 16u girls national team. It would mean a lot to me to be able to go to this big tournament. IT’S FARGO!! Almost all wrestlers dream of qualifying for this. My future dream is to go to Colorado Mesa college to wrestle and study forensic anthropology. Even though I’m still a freshman I hope to make an impression and work towards this life long goal starting now. By being able to go I would get more exposure as a wrestler and they might think about me when it’s committing time and I’d be recognized by many elite wrestlers. This tournament will help me become what I want to be, an influential women’s wrestler. I want the youth girls to look up to me and believe in me I want to show them that they can do what they want to do not just in wrestling but in life. I want them to know that they need to work hard to achieve their goals. All in all the funds will be used carefully by me and my mom to get us there, buy required Team Washington singlets and team gear, pay for all the hotel stays necessary for the 5 team camps I have to go to, pay my National team fees which include Fargo hotel, Memorial Day required team camp, coaching and transportation while in Fargo, AND help me get to Colorado Mesa for another 8 day camp to prepare me for Nationals.
