My name is Caleb. Im a 19-year-old trans guy who just graduated high school. I am raising money for Top Surgery.
What is Top Surgery?
Female-to-male (FTM) top surgery is a procedure to create a more masculine-looking chest in transgender men. The procedure involves removing excess fat and skin, and repositioning the nipples to create a natural-looking flat chest. FTM top surgery may help relieve gender dysphoria and prevent complications related to chest binding.
I have been binding for about 4-5 years and I have damaged my ribs because of it. I developed Costochondritis as well as popping in my rips every now and then. Top surgery is necessary for my survival. I have been hospitalized 18 time for a mix of suicidal ideation and suicide attempts because of my gender dysphoria. My hospitalizations started in 7th grade which is right after I realized I was trans. I also have been assaulted a multitude of times because of my identity. For this reason, I choose to not disclose my identity whenever possible. This is also why I chose not to post my last name or picture on this fundraiser. Having top surgery can help me stay even more safe. It will also greatly improve my mental health.

I’m currently disabled and do not have a job or any passive income. I have recently applied for disability benefits and got denied but I am in the process of an appeal.
I plan on seeing Dr. Richard Bartlett in Brookline, MA. My surgeon is asking for $14,500. $8,400 for the surgery itself and $6,100 for the Anesthesia and facility fees. The rest of the money is for GoFundMe fees which is around 7.9% with $-0.30 per donation.
Any excess money will be donated to Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition.
