Please Help Save MateThe Mini Bull!

Hi my name is Caroline and I’m fundraising for my dear friend Daisy Bastick’s furr baby Mate.

 

In the early hours on Monday 20th September, Mate was rushed to SASH (Small Animal Specialist Hospital) on the central coast of NSW, with a suspected obstruction in his intestines.

 

He was lethargic, vomiting, hiding under the house, showing signs of pain in his tummy and not his usual mischievous self.

 

After expensive X-rays & tests, it was confirmed he had an obstruction with some sort of Kangaroo Bone stuck in his intestines and he needed emergency surgery to remove the bone to save his life.

 

Mate has required 24hr monitoring, is on IV fluids, anti nausea medication & antibiotics in the hope of reducing the inflammation of his intestines and organs and recovery from his surgery.

 

Mate is not out of the woods yet. Time will tell if he is able to recover properly from surgery as he is at risk of infection from the obstruction.

 

For the next week he will have to be monitored day and night in animal hospital to ensure he will be able to start eating again and passing a bowel movements on his own.

 

As you can imagine, Daisy is absolutely distraught that Mate is not well and the possibility that he may not pull through .

 

So far, the vet bills and expenses have cost over $5,000 and Mate will be required to stay for at least another week which is just heartbreaking on many different levels.

 

During this pandemic and lockdowns in NSW, Daisy’s business the Peach Pole Studio is closed and is unable to operate therefore has resulted in the loss of her income. The stress of the business closure as well as Mate’s Vet bills is just to unbearable to watch her do this alone.

 

Daisy is someone that always goes above and beyond to help others and I just could not sit back and do nothing to help her.

 

I’m sure you can all agree that now is the perfect time that we can show our love and support to Daisy by helping to raise funds to help her and Mate get through this.
