Hello Family and Friends,

I am working to raise money to cover multiple myeloma treatments for my mother, Ruth--a strong, peaceful, and loving woman for all who meet and know her. As some of you know my mother was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in March 2020. This news was sudden and devastating. She immediately started her chemo treatments and in October 2020 she was said to be in "partial" remission meaning that she still had myeloma deposits and that she had to continue on with a form of mild chemo to keep the myeloma deposits at bay unless she does the stem cell transplant. The stem cell transplant is a procedure that the patient gets high-dose of chemotherapy to kill the cells in the bone marrow. Then the patient receives new, healthy blood-forming stem cells. No hospital in Kenya has the technology to perform this kind of treatment therefore my mother has to go abroad to do this. So far we have raised half of the money required to assist her in going abroad for treatment. However, there is still financial need and that is why I am making this appeal to anyone who is able and willing to help us raise the remaining half.
