Please help Justin & Ashley bring Ruger home !!

Ruger started getting sick last week. The amazing dog parents that Justin and Ashley are- took him to the vet and he spent the night in the hospital on Friday. Ruger had numerous tests performed on Saturday which ultimately lead to surgery for a foreign blockage on Saturday evening.  The vets did not find a foreign body and the surgery ended up being exploratory. They did discover that Ruger had an “ileus” and “severe enteritis” (inflammation in his intestines). Tests showed he was going septic. His bowels and intestines are not working. Despite all of the testing, there is no diagnosis yet. He has yet to show signs of recovery and needs continued to care to assist this little boy in healing.  He is only 9 months old!  Ruger remains in complete veterinary care and hospitalized at this time as he requires IV medications, fluids, and monitoring to ensure things keep progressing in a positive direction. He has been going between the animal hospital and his regular vet to ensure his needs are being addressed as he requires 24 hour care at this point. There is no exact prediction about how long it will take him to recover so all we can do is be optimistic right now and wish him the speediest recovery possible. The vets have stated that it is likely that Ruger will require several more days of intensive treatment and hospitalization which will continue to accumulate thousands of dollars of vet bills !

The treatment that Ruger requires has been an unfathomable financial hit for Ashley and Justin. Ruger just needs more time and more medications and veterinary attention to get him to a full recovery. Any donation that you can spare will get Ruger the continued treatment that he needs so that he can return home to his pack.  Anyone that knows Justin and Ashley knows immediately that they love their dogs as much most people love their children. They are beyond beside themselves with stress and agony watching Ruger go through this.   These dogs are their children.  Remy started it all and she sure keeps everyone in line. Kali (mama now) brought 10 pups into this world in spring 2020 and baby Ruger was one of them!  With no intention on keeping a pup for themselves- Ruger chose Justin, Ashley, Remy, and Mama Kali as his furever home.  Ruger brought a little more testosterone to the Sams household to help even it out for Justin however, Ruger ended up being a mama’s boy- in more ways then one. Yes- he is Ashely’s boy but Kali and Ruger are inseparable. Kali is beside her self without Rugey boy home.  Any donation that you can spare will ensure that this amazing family will be complete again and reunited as soon as possible.   Ashley and Justin are very proud dog parents and with persuasion allowed us to create this page so that they can continue to provide Ruger the absolute best care that he needs and deserves. This family is one that would do anything for any one and this is our opportunity to support them in a horrific and scary time.  They have had more than their fair share of tragedy over the years with their barn/ workshop fire being one of the more recent.  We need to ensure that Ruger comes home and there is a happy ending to this difficult time.  Every cent will make a huge difference. Ashley and Justin will be forever grateful for the support (both emotionally and financially) during this time that no dog parent wants to ever experience.
