<div>
</div>
<div>Hello everyone,
</div>
<div>My name is Will Hollingworth, and on behalf of Serenescape Pictures,
</div>
<div>Milo Edwards and me, I want to share with you our short film Sidewinder,
</div>
<div>and the exciting stage of the film’s journey we’re now at (having just
</div>
<div>officially finished post-production) – getting it seen at festivals around the
</div>
<div>world.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>If this is the first time you’re hearing about it, Sidewinder is a dystopian
</div>
<div>thriller set in a war-torn and politically divided America in 2032. We meet
</div>
<div>Cole and Amos, two unlikely heroes who are about to embark on a journey
</div>
<div>that will change the fate of the world … Ambitious stuff for a low budget
</div>
<div>short… But if the reception at a screening held in November for 250-plus
</div>
<div>people is anything to go by, we dare to believe we have pulled it off…
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In November 2022, we had the opportunity to screen Sidewinder at the
</div>
<div>Prince Charles Cinema in London’s West End. As well as being bowled
</div>
<div>over by the turn-out, which included industry professionals, as well as
</div>
<div>family and friends, we were floored by the overwhelmingly positive
</div>
<div>response the film received. It was a moment we’ll never forget - and the
</div>
<div>moment we knew we should be doing everything in our power to get
</div>
<div>Sidewinder and the talents of our up-and-coming team in front of as many
</div>
<div>audiences as possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They sure don’t make it easy though… Submitting to film festivals is a
</div>
<div>costly business (let’s be honest, what part of filmmaking isn’t?!), and
</div>
<div>although we may have pulled off the impossible by getting our film made
</div>
<div>for relative peanuts – all without sacrificing its production-values and
</div>
<div>vision - the costs of submissions to festivals can be prohibitive for films
</div>
<div>like ours.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Which is where we humbly hope you will come in. We are asking for your
</div>
<div>support in getting Sidewinder to as many festivals as possible to give it the
</div>
<div>best chance of being picked up and made – either as a feature film or a TV series. This is why we made it as a short/proof-of-concept in the first place
</div>
<div>– and to showcase the fierce talent of the young, hungry and generous cast
</div>
<div>and crew who have been behind it; a team, we believe, who deserve to get
</div>
<div>their foot in the door of the industry.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We need to cover the following costs to ensure that we can make the most of this incredible opportunity:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Festival submission fees, Travel expenses, Marketing materials, festival accreditation, tickets and miscellaneous expenses. All in all, we see this coming to around £3000.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our submission period will begin with The Kingston International Film Festival in Surrey at the end of April. Any/all donations to allow us to do this – and for the festivals that follow - would be amazingly appreciated by us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We understand that times are tough, and the pressures on all our pockets,
</div>
<div>but any spare change you can donate will be going to a great cause. Every
</div>
<div>donation, no matter how big or small, will help us cover entry fees, travel
</div>
<div>expenses, and marketing materials – and getting our project to the next
</div>
<div>level.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your support for the film on
</div>
<div>this final leg of its journey means the world.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>Stay classy and much love,
</div>
<div>Will and Milo
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>xx
