Let’s help get my mom an insulin pump!

Hello everyone! My name is Taylor Barnes. Recently, my mom, who lives in North Carolina, has been in and out of the hospital due to complications with diabetes and issues with neuropathy. Unfortunately, this is not a new thing for her to be frequently visiting the ER, however her condition hasn’t improved much since last year. With insulin becoming increasingly costly, and due to her lack of insurance coverage, it’s difficult to provide her with the adequate treatments. Thankfully, her doctor has been providing sample insulin pens at a very lost cost when my mom can’t afford the insulin vials, but she has also recommended my mom work towards an insulin pump as it will help regulate her blood sugar levels more consistently than insulin injections 3-4 times daily. I’ve been unsuccessful in my attempts to opt her into my health coverage under the military due to the fact I cannot claim her as my dependent. I wish I could help assist her more but I can’t afford everything. So, I’m asking for your help! The insulin pump is going to cost around $2,500 and the procedure to install it is just a little over $9,000. As of now I have $1,250 that I have saved to put towards the cost.
