Please help Gaston hear again!

Hi! My name is Lisa and I am here to introduce Gaston and Monica and their beautiful kids. We have had the privilege to get to know this beautiful, hard working family of five. Four years ago, fearful for their lives in Mexico, they sold their car and bought tickets to Ontario, landing in Toronto as refugees. Their story is one that seems based on a frightening movie, but let’s go back – way back. Gaston contracted meningitis at the age of one, leading to an inability to walk, talk and hear. Through therapy his mobility and speech returned, but he remains without hearing. Despite all of this, he worked hard and earned a scholarship and a degree in Industrial Engineering. He was reliant completely upon a complex hearing device; however, as part of the tragedy, this cochlear implant was broken beyond repair. The replacement cochlear device was stolen in 2019 in Grand Bend during a family outing https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.cbc.ca/amp/1.6186775.  As the family does not have their permanent papers, they are not covered for this medical device. This is where we come in – please help us raise the $13,000 that will be required to give him his hearing back – to hear music again, to hear his children again, to help them with their homework and to get employment in his field and to give them the Christmas they have dreamt of. They deserve this help – they want to succeed and this will truly help them-in fact, it will change their lives!
