Please Help Ewan Arnott To Bring His Mum Home

On Mother's Day, 14th March 2021, I saw a comment by Ewan Arnott on Twitter that really got to me.
(link) Happy Mothers Day Mum ... "Happy Mother’s Day Mum! it's been years since I saw my mother and it's a long story. Every Mother’s Day I miss her and this year has been worse as she is in her late 60's now. I'll try to use social media to find her."
Life is all about helping others if we possibly can, so I reached out to Ewan in a DM, and here is the shortened version his story.

Ewan was born in South Africa in a town called Klerksdorp which is about 100 miles or so from Johannesburg, although both of his parents are from Edinburgh, both of them were born in Scotland.
His mum (Janis) and dad got married in Scotland, around 1972. They had his sister in 1975 and then in 1978, they emigrated to South Africa. Ewan's dad worked in the mines over there.
In 1990, they got divorced. It was a very acrimonious thing and they never really spoke again.
Because of this, he lost touch with his mum, although his dad eventually brought Ewan back to live in Scotland
She kept in touch with him by phone from South Africa, although he was only able to speak to her a couple of times. It was usually emotional, she was crying. This was 1991 and he was still only 11 years old. Ewan hasn’t seen her since he was nine.
Ewan said "My mum was obviously trying to keep in touch with me and my sister, but eventually I was cut off from my mum completely.
It’s been 30 years since he saw, or heard from, his mum.

Since Ewan's appeal went out, and with the help of Sunny Govan Radio and various online newspapers in Scotland and South Africa, missing people sites, individuals in SA etc, Ewan has FOUND HIS MUM!!

After having had phone calls that have lasted hours, Ewan has decided that he wants to bring his elderly mum home, back to Scotland.
However, the costs involved with this are huge. Hence this appeal.
Monies raised will enable Ewan to visit his mum (and meet his step-sister) for the first time in 30 years, make other return journeys to South Africa to assist his mum with packing up her house; Janis' flight to Scotland; Cost of pet travel (cat passport/vaccinations/etc). Cost of a passport for Janis, etc.
Ewan is a University Graduate and has a full-time job, but as we’re all aware, Covid19 and lockdowns have put a strain on so many, and he was furloughed from his job. What little income he had coming in was to pay the usual bills; mortgage; general, basic living expenses.
So we are reaching out for the kindness of strangers to enable Janis' return to Scotland. Her home. To reunite her with her son after 30 years, to enable her to meet her grandsons.
For the past year or so, the hashtag has been #Kindness - let's keep this going.
Please note that ALL donations will go DIRECTLY to Ewan for the above, and IF anything is left over, he will pay them forward to a charity!
Ewan has stressed to me that he wants everyone to know that donations made are strictly for the purpose of bringing his mum back home, and, if required, is happy to provide receipts for all of the above, which I can scan and show in the update section of this campaign.
