Please Help Deliver for Domino!!

Tax deductible
Turkey has a problem with stray Golden Retrievers.  America can help.  In Turkey, Goldens are a status symbol and they make trendy presents. But people only want the puppies, not the dogs.  So, once they are grown, they are released onto the streets.  As a Golden Retriever Rescue organization, Southeastern Virginia Golden Retriever Rescue, Education, and Training, Inc. (SEVA GRREAT) has been finding happy endings for dogs who may have known little, if any, love and caring in their lives.  We, along with other Golden Rescues across the United States, have been working for several years to bring many of these strays into the U.S.

When we were first told about Domino, we immediately agreed to bring him over to Virginia.  At 7 years of age, Domino, a Golden Retriever mix, has had an extremely difficult life.  A kind stranger took pity on him when she found him sick and starving to death outside of a Domino’s Pizza.  She reached out to the wonderful volunteers in Turkey who try to help these abandoned dogs and offered to pay for his medical expenses if they would help him.  So they did.  Domino was battling multiple illnesses, several of which typically kill a dog, including Leishmania and Ehrlichia.  But Domino is a fighter.  In the 5 months that he was under the care of the volunteers in Turkey, Domino grew strong enough to make the flight to the United States.  Unfortunately when he had his first exam here in Virginia, our vet discovered a tumor on his genital area.  Tests revealed that Domino has cancer.  The good news is that this is a very curable cancer.  The success rate of curing TVT is more than 90%.  So of course we agreed to do the chemo treatments.

But the cost of Domino’s care and the cost of bringing each dog over here to the U.S. are adding up.  The adoption fees that we charge don’t even cover the cost of flying a dog to Virginia.  Then once they get here, we fully vet every dog, taking care of any medical issues they may have such as eye infections, skin infections, and in Domino’s case, a tumor.

So we are reaching out for your help, so that we can continue to aid these forsaken dogs.  $5,000 would cover the cost of Domino’s chemo treatments and medicines AND help pay to bring more homeless Goldens to the States.  With your help, Domino and the other abandoned Goldens will have everything they have ever dreamed of having – a family to love, a nice warm bed to sleep in and more importantly – security and a pain-free life. So thank you so much for making their dreams come true!
