Beginning in 1980 I have had a great many eye problems. Even in early elementary at about 3rd grade I was already wearing glasses. Then in 1980 it was discovered that I had scared corenas and need grafts on both eyes. For the second eye surgery I had no insurance and had to pay the full amount on that bills out of my own pocket. Eye problems have continued all my life since then. I have had a detached rentina , surgeries to control the eye pressure, and more.The visual challenges have been many, but I like to think I have always had a positive attitude in confronting them.
Many challenges have been addressed frequently as well. In October of 2016 my right eye became terribly infected and I almost lost it, but it has been treated and until recently progress has been made. But now, there is something growing in the right eye and additionl surgery is now needed to remove the growth and do a new corneal graft. However my insurance policy has a high deductible of $3000 before they begin paying. And since my insurance dedutible started on July 1 I would have to pay that portion out of my own pocket and I just don't have it. The goal of $4500 is to pay the portion that I can not pay AND for medicines / eye drops that would be needed after the surgery. It would also help to pay for the transportation to and from the doctor and surgery location. If any funds remain I would use it to help others within the community as I have done in the past. I do not like to "brag" or tell stories about how I have helped others, but I can assure you that I have. I will say this much, I recently added up the amount of funds that I had given to people to help them and it was over $40,000. Maybe if i had not done that I would not be asking for some assistance now. I have said this many times, "I am humbled and honored" by the many times people in this area of always helped me with trips, prayers , and many many other kindsnesses. I do not know what more to say other than Thank you. (Oh yes, I do not try to proofread, it is to hard to see what i type , I hope you understand.)I hope the goal can be met for Aug. 25 or sometime around then. then I could schedule the surgery for early September, Please help.
